In his work,he was especially drawn to the area of what Rogers referred to as the 'fullyfunctioning person' and over a lifetime of research and practice, developed the'human system model' of psychotherapy and optimal functioning. In the present volume, Dr. Seeman illustrates how central elements of a person’sbehavioral systems are integrally linked, and how it should be possible to interveneat different points of the human system to affect other behavioral systems withinthe person. Using detailed narratives and integrates an understanding of therapyand research in a way that exemplifi es the scientist-practictioner model. Dr.Seeman provides a well conceptualized and empirically supported view of whatmakes the human system function well and thus for understanding the place ofpsychotherapy in enhancing personal efficacy.
