Diese Studie wurde zwischen 2009 und 2010 in verschiedenen Krankenhäusern in Andhra Pradesh gemacht. Das Buch hat fünf Kapitel mit Referenzen und erklärt verschiedene psychosoziale Probleme im Detail und wie sie sich auf Witwen und Witwer auswirken. Es war ein experimentelles Design und verglich Witwen und Witwer. So wird erklärt, dass ein höheres Maß an Einsamkeit mit einem erhöhten Maß an depressiven Symptomen verbunden ist. Witwer gaben an, sich einsamer zu fühlen als Witwen, obwohl letztere später ein höheres Maß an Depressionen angaben als erstere.
