Der 1. Band zur Psychosomatik in der inneren Medizin enthält 13 Arbeiten über psychosomatische Krankheiten und Syndrome des Herz-Kreislauf-Systems, Magen-Darm-’frakts, Harntrakts und Muskel-Gelenk-Systems sowie über weitere spezielle Syn­ drome, von denen nur das häufig vorkommende psychogene Schmerzsyndrom genannt sei. Der Schwerpunkt dieses 2. Bandes liegt auf der Diagnose und Behandlung psychosomatischer Störungen und Erkrankungen. Alle Beiträge sind aus Vorträgen hervorgegangen, die an der Akademie für Ärztliche Fortbildung der Ärztekammer Berlin (Vorsitzende: Prof. Dr. MetaAlexander) als fachspezifische Fort­ bildung in der inneren Medizin unter dem Leitthema 'Psycho­ somatik' während des Sommersemesters 1985 gehalten wurden. Die ersten beiden Arbeiten stellen eine Einführung in die Thematik dar, indem sie Verständnis für mögliche Ansätze der Diagnostik und verschiedene Methoden der Psychotherapie wecken. E. Schlewinski erklärt zunächst den Begriff der psychosomati­ schen Krankheit und schildert dann - jeweils anhand eines Fall­ beispiels - die 3 möglichen Erscheinungsformen: funktionelles Syndrom, Psychosomatose und Konversionsneurose. Ausführun­ gen zur Krankheitsdisposition, zur Regression und zur Symptom­ bildung ergänzen das Verständnis für die Wurzeln dieser Erkran­ kungen.
