Psychotherapy and psychoanalysis provide us with a very refreshing experience with patients, requiring extensive research and making us more educated and capable of bringing about social change. Research shows that understanding psychology and psychoanalysis can greatly help educators in their psychopedagogical development. It also shows that a person can become wiser and more balanced with this knowledge, as it helps them understand themselves better, following the Greek maxim ’Know thyself.’ This work went beyond dedication to research patients, both from my PhD and from patients treated at my clinic, which focuses on problems with weight loss and eating disorders. This work demonstrates that everyone can experience psychotherapy and psychoanalysis, proven therapies that bring practical results for educators, students, or those seeking self-discovery. This is the reason for the life of every academic professional and the reason for the entire professional life of psychoanalysts, dedicated to research and helping patients to find themselves. The eternal ideal of educators and psychotherapists.
