Sobre IBD

Para pensar sobre la escuela inglesa de psicoanálisis nos tenemos que referir indefectiblemente a la Sociedad Psicoanalítica Británica cuyo fundador fue Ernest Jones en el año 1919. Años más tarde, el mismo E. Jones sería presidente de la Asociación Psicoanalítica internacional en las décadas del 20 y 30. También es el biógrafo oficial de Sigmund Freud. Jones conoce a Melanie Klein, en el Congreso de Salzburgo en abril de 1924, y la invita para que diera en Londres un ciclo de conferencias que dictó durante el verano de 1925. Klein decide cambiar de ciudad, dejando Berlín en octubre de 1925 para establecerse en Londres el año siguiente, dado que Jones le había pedido que analice a un hijo.Las primeras formulaciones teóricas de Klein fueron bien acogidas en la Sociedad Psicoanalítica Británica.También en el congreso Salzburgo expone Anna Freud mostrando desde ese momento las claras divisiones teóricas que la diferencian con Melanie Klein y que durarían décadas. Anna Freud se instala en Londres en 1938 expulsada de Austria junto a su padre y toda la familia. 4
