Chociaż sam znajduję się po drugiej stronie, w krainie głodu, jest to moja wizja, odczucie głodnego - prawdziwe uczucie płynące z serca i kości, wynikające z konkretnych osobistych i naukowych doświadczeń. Przez otwarte wrota i głos wydobywający się ze strachu przedstawiam tę książkę. Książka ta opowiada prawdziwą historię dla tych, którzy interesują się naukami społecznymi, jedzeniem, żywieniem oraz dla tych, którzy próbują poszukiwać prawdy.
