Proverbs from Turtle Pond developed from a writing assignment given by author Eric Napoli to his students at Rivendell Study Center, and from there it took on a life of its own. The characters within the stories have emerged from real situations with critters that took place in his suburban back yard ponds just outside of Buffalo, New York.Eric is a lover of wildlife, family life, and biblical living. These proverbs, presented in fable-like form, combine all three of these passions. His children, young and old, have sat and listened to them be told and re-told, and, like the biblical Proverbs from which they are taken, the stories’ meanings and effects on the recipient deepen and grow the more they are shared and heard.
