As correntes que circulam no veio do gerador podem danificar as suas chumaceiras. Como consequência, isso pode resultar em redução do tempo de operação e grandes perdas financeiras. Este trabalho propõe um sistema de proteção que utiliza a bobina de Rogowski e conceitos da norma IEC 61850-9-2 (Process Bus) para proteger o gerador contra tais correntes. Além disso, apresenta os resultados dos testes laboratoriais e no local onde foram obtidas as medições reais das correntes de veio.
