Dental implantology has revolutionized restorative dentistry by providing a predictable method for replacing missing teeth while preserving adjacent structures and alveolar bone. Since Brånemark’s work on osseointegration, implant therapy has become an established treatment for partially and completely edentulous patients, aiming to restore function, esthetics, phonetics, comfort, and quality of life. Limitations of conventional dentures, particularly poor mandibular retention and stability, have increased the use of implant-supported prostheses. Successful implant rehabilitation requires prosthetically driven treatment planning, considering implant position, biomechanics, esthetics, occlusion, patient expectations, and maintenance. Implant restorations generally comprise an implant fixture, abutment, and definitive prosthesis, which may be cement- or screw-retained. Advances in digital dentistry and restorative materials have expanded prosthetic options to include single crowns, fixed partial dentures, full-arch prostheses, overdentures, hybrid prostheses, and ceramic restorations.
