Women entrepreneurship in tourism plays a key role in economic growth but faces challenges such as financial barriers, social constraints, and limited government support. The tourism industry offers opportunities for women in eco-tourism, wellness tourism, and hospitality, yet they struggle with funding, marketing, and competition. While government initiatives like Project Priyadarshini aim to empower women, poor implementation and awareness limit their impact. Women in tourism often work in lower-paying roles, with fewer leadership opportunities. Strengthening financial access, vocational training, and gender-inclusive policies can improve women’s participation. Recommendations include better policy implementation, financial incentives, digital marketing adoption, and mentorship programs. Encouraging women’s leadership in tourism will drive social and economic development while fostering gender equality. Addressing these challenges will unlock the full potential of women entrepreneurs in tourism.
