Em 2014, o setor dos transportes foi responsável por 18% das emissões de gases com efeito de estufa na Alemanha. Destas, 95% são causadas pelo tráfego rodoviário. Além disso, é responsável pela impermeabilização do solo, poluição sonora e poluição atmosférica (AGÊNCIA FEDERAL DO AMBIENTE 2016). A mobilidade elétrica representa uma possível solução para esses problemas. O tema deste livro é criar um possível conceito de infraestrutura de carregamento para Bochum e apresentar outras medidas para promover a mobilidade elétrica em um município. Há uma série de medidas possíveis dentro de um município, e Bochum também pode aplicar muitas delas. As áreas de organização, comunicação e multimodalidade revelaram-se particularmente importantes. No entanto, ainda falta mais empenho por parte do governo federal para realmente sensibilizar as pessoas para o tema. O conceito de infraestrutura de carregamento também apresenta um guia para o futuro desenho da cidade de Bochum e pode ser transferido para outras cidades. Assim, este livro é particularmente interessante para a cidade de Bochum, mas também para outros municípios.
