This is the story of a man who wanted to find a cure for cancer when his grandfather died of cancer and so majored in biochemistry. Little did he see, upon demonstrating a precocious and creative approach to the problem, that other eyes were monitoring him for his potential. Before long three strangers paid Dan a visit one day while he was still an undergraduate at the University of Nevada at Las Vegas and identified themselves as agents for the Department of Naval Intelligence. Dan had never heard of such a department and when he looked it up only found a listing for the Office of Naval Intelligence. This is how Dan became part of a shadowy government project that offered him the chance of a lifetime; studies backed by funding and unlimited use of scientific instruments. This could enable him to make great discoveries, and he would be a vital part of a program necessary to the National Security of the United States, and as a loyal and patriotic American, contribute new knowledge to the science of the future. Little did he know what adventures lay in store, adventures that went beyond all that he had imagined, and what such patriotism would cost him in terms of his rights and freedom.
