CCMMMA (Centro Campano per il Monitoraggio e la Modellistica Marina ed Atmosferica) to morskie centrum meteorologiczne Uniwersytetu Neapolitańskiego „Parthenope', którego celem jest świadczenie multidyscyplinarnych usług w zakresie monitorowania środowiska oraz tworzenie prognoz pogody, warunków morskich i jakości powietrza dla Europy, Włoch i regionu Kampanii (południowe Włochy) w jak najwyższej rozdzielczości przestrzennej. Dane pogodowe CCMMMA zostały wykorzystane do dostosowania prototypowego systemu skupionego na wulkanach południowych Włoch, który umożliwia prognozowanie rozprzestrzeniania się chmur pyłu na żądanie. Celem jest wdrożenie przepływu pracy połączonych modeli osadzonych w zaawansowanym systemie obliczeniowym, zdolnym do zapewnienia na żądanie godzinowych symulacji dotyczących rozprzestrzeniania się chmur pyłu z erupcji wulkanicznych. Codzienne dane pogodowe z modelu Weather and Research Forecast (WRF) zostały połączone z systemem modelowania CALPUFF w celu uzyskania prognozy rozprzestrzeniania się chmur pyłu wulkanicznego w południowych Włoszech z dokładnością co do godziny. Proces ten może być przydatny w systemie wczesnego ostrzegania oraz w celu udoskonalenia badań dotyczących bezpieczeństwa lotów, ochrony środowiska i zmian klimatycznych.
