La progettazione razionale della composizione chimica della ferrite con struttura spinel è stata una sfida a causa della sua natura multivariata. Oltre dieci tipi di elementi cationici interstiziali tetraedrici e percorsi di lavorazione in più fasi hanno interazioni complesse e contributi diversi alle proprietà magnetiche, elettroniche ed elettriche finali. Un approccio basato sull’informatica per l’esplorazione dello spazio delle proprietà dei materiali ha il potenziale per mitigare i costi, i rischi e il tempo coinvolti nell’effettiva preparazione e sperimentazione di materiali potenzialmente utili, e potrebbe fornire preziose intuizioni sui fattori fondamentali alla base del comportamento dei materiali. L’informatica dei materiali rappresenta questo tipo di strategia razionale per navigare sistematicamente nello spazio delle strutture/proprietà dei materiali e coinvolge una varietà di metodologie computazionali per generare e analizzare dati scientifici e ingegneristici sui materiali. In questo studio, una tecnologia informatica, che implementa l’analisi delle componenti principali (PCA) e la teoria dei Rough Set (RS), viene applicata per modellare lo spazio delle composizioni chimiche della ferrite spinello per ottenere migliori prestazioni in termini di bassa conduttività anche ad alta frequenza e buone proprietà magnetiche.
