In Brasile, l’industria della pelle comprende circa 450 concerie, di cui circa l’80% sono considerate piccole aziende. Il settore genera 65.000 posti di lavoro diretti e i ricavi sono stimati in 2 miliardi di dollari all’anno. Secondo RAIS-MTE, solo 27.821 posti di lavoro sono formali, cioè registrati. Tuttavia, questo numero non comprende i lavoratori autonomi, i lavoratori informali e i dipendenti dei macelli, che hanno il settore conciario integrato nell’unità stessa. Questo libro affronta quindi lo studio, attraverso calcoli teorici, della formazione del complesso Cr+6 con diversi ligandi.
