Zunächst wird eine neue zeitorientierte Modellierung produktiver Vorgänge bei Unsicherheit eingeführt, mit deren Hilfe produktions- und kostentheoretische Zusammenhänge untersucht werden. Diese Modellierung bildet auch das Verbindungsstück zur Produktionsplanung. Für losweise Fertigungsformen werden aktive und passive Strategien der Produktionsplanung gegenübergestellt. Die gewonnenen Erkenntnisse bilden die Basis für die Herleitung einer neuen, auf Ergebnisse der Warteschlangentheorie gestützten Produktions-/Lagerhaltungspolitik für die Unsicherheitssituation.
