This book is a comprehensive collection of research papers presented at 22nd International Corrosion Congress held on October 22–26, 2024, in Xi’an, China. The book serves as a valuable resource of the critical progress and technical advances in corrosion and protection for academics, researchers, and professionals worldwide. The book focuses on the latest findings and progress of corrosion and protection in natural environments including atmospheric corrosion, marine biofouling and protection technologies, marine corrosion and protection, corrosion of archaeological and historical artifacts and microbiological corrosion etc.The International Corrosion Council (ICC), founded in 1961, consists of representatives of countries interested in increasing the benefits to be derived from the advancement of corrosion science and engineering. These representatives, currently from 64 member countries, are generally appointed by nationally recognized corrosion societies or by national organizations with a significant interest in corrosion. This committee acts for the Council between International Corrosion Congress meetings which are normally held every three years.

  • Properties and Applications of Nanoparticles and Nanomaterials
    Xiaogang Li
Nanomaterials have rapidly developed, and attention surrounding their use has increased in recent years. The emergence of various nanomaterials, i.e., nanoparticles, nano-grained alloys, and gradient nanostructures, is expected to make it possible for materials with super or very special properties to be applied in unusual practical contexts. There is a wide range of applicatio...
  • Corrosion Behavior and Mechanical Properties of Metallic Materials
    Xiaogang Li
Globally, more than USD 400 million/year is spent on corrosion protection and productivity losses due to corrosion. Corrosion, a process associated with chemical/electrochemical reactions, often has deleterious consequences on mechanical properties, ultimately resulting in the degradation of a material. Metallic components, widely employed in various industries, i.e., oil, gas,...
