Głównym przedmiotem zainteresowania jest zaawansowana telewizja cyfrowa przeznaczona do transmisji naziemnej. Pominięto jednak zbyt podstawowe pojęcia. W trosce o zwięzłość tekstu zachowano jedynie przykładowe wyniki, zamiast przedstawiać je wszystkie. Można powiedzieć, że w razie potrzeby wykorzystano techniki przetwarzania obrazu i komunikacji optycznej.
