As perturbações da saúde mental representam uma preocupação crescente na sociedade contemporânea, permanecendo muitas vezes por diagnosticar devido à subtileza dos seus sintomas e ao estigma que envolve as condições psicológicas. Este projeto, intitulado Mental Health Prediction Using Natural Language Sentiment and Facial Expression Recognition, apresenta uma estrutura abrangente e automatizada que aproveita os avanços no processamento da linguagem natural e na visão computacional para identificar potenciais indicadores de perturbações de saúde mental. O sistema proposto adopta uma abordagem de modalidade dupla, analisando tanto os dados textuais como as expressões faciais para avaliar os estados emocionais e psicológicos. A análise de sentimentos é efectuada em dados textuais gerados pelo utilizador, extraindo pistas emocionais e avaliando a polaridade e a intensidade dos sentimentos expressos. Simultaneamente, o reconhecimento de expressões faciais é empregue para descodificar sinais não verbais utilizando pontos de referência faciais e modelos de classificação de emoções. Ao integrar os conhecimentos destas duas modalidades, o sistema aumenta a fiabilidade e a profundidade da avaliação da saúde mental. Esta metodologia tem como objetivo ajudar os profissionais de saúde mental, fornecendo uma solução não invasiva, em tempo real e escalável.
