La formation du tartre au niveau des surfaces chaudes de transfert de chaleur dans les usines de dessalement par le précédé à détentes étagées (MSF). Le tartre se forme s’il y a une précipitation de sels contenus dans l’eau de mer tels que les carbonates de calcium et de magnésium. Le prétraitement est basé sur l’élimination des ions de calcium et de magnésium de l’eau de mer, en utilisant la résine cationique en tant qu’échangeur des ions et des agents de précipitation tels que: soude, carbonate de sodium et couplage de carbonate de sodium - soude. Les agents de précipitation donnent de bons résultats pour éliminer les ions de calcium et de magnésium de l’eau de mer. Ce prétraitement par précipitation élimine les ions de calcium et de magnésium de 620 et 644 mg/L à 5 et 9.11 mg/L, avec un taux d’élimination de 99.19% et 98,58 %, respectivement.Le prétraitement d’adoucissement par la résine cationique Lewatit S100, élimine les ions de calcium et de magnésium de 620 et 644 mg/L à 300 et 486 mg/L, respectivement, la caractérisation par infrarouge et par diffraction de rayons X par MEB et EDX ont validés ces résultats.
