This classic work serves as a comprehensive guide for the faithful to contemplate the end of earthly life and the transition into eternity. Structured as a series of meditations, the text invites readers to reflect deeply on the nature of mortality, the judgment of the soul, and the infinite mercy of God.Each chapter provides a structured approach to spiritual exercise, offering considerations, affections, and prayers designed to turn the heart toward repentance and divine love. Liguori’s writing is characterized by its clarity, urgency, and deep compassion, making complex theological truths accessible to those seeking to lead a more devout life. The book addresses the reality of death not as a source of terror, but as a necessary transition that requires careful spiritual preparation and a steadfast commitment to virtue.A cornerstone of Catholic devotional literature, 'Preparation for Death' remains an essential resource for those looking to deepen their prayer life and focus their existence on the eternal.
