Cette étude analyse l’état de préparation du personnel de la police équatorienne pour répondre à la cybercriminalité dans un contexte d’augmentation de la cybercriminalité dans le pays. Une méthodologie quantitative a été utilisée avec des enquêtes appliquées aux officiers de police de la zone de planification n° 1, portant sur leur expérience antérieure, leurs niveaux de confiance individuelle et organisationnelle, et leurs perceptions des améliorations nécessaires. Les résultats montrent que les policiers sont peu formés à la cybercriminalité et peu préparés. Des obstacles tels que le manque d’infrastructures, de formation technique et de protocoles clairs ont été identifiés. La conclusion est qu’il est urgent de renforcer les capacités individuelles et institutionnelles pour lutter efficacement contre la cybercriminalité, d’améliorer les processus de formation et d’élaborer une politique de cybersécurité articulée entre les institutions.
