Second chances at Christmas is coming. While other children compile their lists for a fictional Santa, eight-year-old Mikaela Washington kneels and makes her request known to the Lord: One mommy for Christmas, please. Portia Hunter refuses to let her ex-husband cheat her out of the family she wants. She prays for God to send the right man into her life. Marlon Washington will do anything for his two little girls, but can he find a mommy for them and a love for himself? Since Christmas is the time of year to remember the many gifts God has given men, maybe these three souls will get their hearts’ desire. From a reader: Out of the mouth of babes. Sometimes I think we underestimate the relationship children have with God as well as their faith in God. A young girl desires a mommy, and by blind faith in God she petitions him in her nightly bedtime prayer. Although the book has adult main characters with their own issues, the author not only focuses on the adults but also lets the reader experience a child’s blind faith. I absolutely feel in love with the adorable Mikayla. I loved her innocence and her childlike faith in God. I am a die-hard fan and addicted to Ms. Simmons’ writing style, so I hate to see the word Epilogue at the end. I need a never-ending story from her... Lol
