Venöse Beingeschwüre machen 70 bis 80 Prozent aller Geschwüre aus, und obwohl es oft lange dauert, bis sie abheilen, ist auch ihr Wiederauftreten höchst problematisch: Schätzungen zufolge treten etwa 70 Prozent dieser Geschwüre bis zu einem Jahr nach dem Verschluss wieder auf.Zur Vorbeugung eines erneuten Auftretens von venösen Ulzera gehört die Kompression, die die wichtigste Präventionsmaßnahme darstellt, aber auch regelmäßige körperliche Bewegung, Übungen zum venösen Rückfluss, Hochlagerung der Gliedmaßen und Hautpflege, einschließlich Reinigung und Befeuchtung.Dieses Buch ist das Ergebnis einer phänomenologischen, deskriptiven Studie, in der versucht wurde, die Faktoren zu verstehen, die zur Einhaltung von Maßnahmen zur Verhinderung des Wiederauftretens von venösen Ulzera beitragen, und zwar aus der Perspektive der Betroffenen.
