Drei Potentialbereiche Leichtbau, Funktion und Kosten/Zeit werden quantitativ bewertet. Dabei liegt der inhaltliche Fokus auf der Abschätzung des optimierten Bauteilgewichts und Leichtbaupotentials. Die Betrachtungen beinhalten die Bauteilgruppen der Sekundärstrukturelemente und Hydraulikkomponenten aus der Luftfahrt sowie die Fertigungsverfahren Selektives Laserschmelzen, CNC-Fräsen und Feinguss.
