Zabójstwa honorowe pozostają trudnym do rozwiązania problemem społecznym o wielu aspektach, popełnianym w społeczeństwie pakistańskim najczęściej wobec kobiet. Problem ten wzbudził w ostatnim czasie zainteresowanie badaczy ze względu na jego poważny i daleko idący wpływ na społeczeństwo jako całość, a w szczególności na ofiary i ich rodziny. Problem ten będzie się nasilał, jeśli nie zostanie odpowiednio zbadany i przedstawiony w prawdziwym świetle osobom, które się nim zajmują. W Pakistanie problem ten dotyczy głównie mężczyzn, którzy w imię zachowania honoru i godności zabijają żony, siostry, kuzynki, córki itp. Jednak wielu badaczy, powołując się na nakazy religijne, określa to jako zbrodnię, argumentując, że sprawcy popełniają ją bez żadnego uzasadnienia i odbierają życie niewinnym osobom wyłącznie w imię fałszywego honoru. Niniejsze badanie ma na celu wyjaśnienie i poznanie postrzegania wszystkich aspektów tego zjawiska oraz pomoże zminimalizować jego rosnący wpływ na całe społeczeństwo. Głównym celem badania było poznanie postrzegania zabójstw honorowych przez mężczyzn ze społeczności. Jakie były ich osobiste opinie na temat tej tradycji?
