Spain’s Law of Historical Memory (2007) acknowledges the sufferings of specific groups but no reference is made to women. This book has a twofold purpose: to reconstruct through testimonial literature the repression of women during the Franco years while at the same time recovering the writings of some of the forgotten post-war women novelists.
