L’objectif de cet ouvrage est de présenter le phénomène de la possession et de l’exorcisme dans la tradition judéo-chrétienne à travers l’histoire, depuis l’Antiquité juive jusqu’à nos jours. La possession démoniaque et la pratique de l’exorcisme ont été étudiées depuis l’Antiquité jusqu’à nos jours. L’objectif est de présenter une synthèse historiographique de ces phénomènes dans le domaine religieux, ainsi qu’une analyse critique basée sur les études de biblistes tels que Karl Kertelge, Antônio Lazarini Neto, Irineu José Rabuske et Luigi Schiavo, et d’historiens tels que Jaccques Le Goff et Jean Delumeau.
