Die Geschichte der Politikwissenschaft in der Bundesrepublik Deutschland ist ohne ihren Fachverband DVPW (Deutsche Vereinigung für Politische Wissenschaft) nicht zu denken. Die Feier ihres 50-jährigen Jubiläums im Ort der Gründung, Königstein, war also Anlass genug, Bilanz zu ziehen über Entwicklung und Leistung der deutschen Politikwissenschaft. In diesem Band wird diese Entwicklung dokumentiert: Der erste Teil des Buches enthält Vorträge ehemaliger Vorsitzender der DVPW zu wichtigen Phasen in der Geschichte der DVPW und damit der Politikwissenschaft. Im zweiten Teil werden systematisch orientierte Beiträge zur Geschichte und Struktur der DVPW geboten. Dokumentarischen Charakter hat der dritte Teil, der zeitgenössische Stellungnahmen ehemaliger Vorsitzender der DVPW zu grundsätzlichen Fragen der Politikwissenschaft versammelt. Insgesamt bietet dieser Band einen Überblick zur Entwicklung und zu den wichtigen Fragen und Auseinandersetzungen der Politikwissenschaft in Deutschland.
