本書蒐錄了旅美華人張國義的現代詩選──江南的文字是包羅萬象的，打開他的詩集幾乎沒他文字涉及不到的角落，大至天地良心小到無家可歸的祖國，江南的文字無處不在，一如他日夜渴望的自由。《作者自序》什麼都空了超市空了股市空了都市空了廣場也空了紙做的坦克壓過兒童節的笑聲向六月盛開的花朵沖去一字排開......今年的六月又從裝修過的巷尾走出送記憶一程我的心長滿苔菁（又一年）沒人的巷口正寫給六月一封長長的用白花做的私信六月  我的城也空了《序／誰來投遞你的信箋》嚴格意義上江南的詩是一種陳述，他從不抒情也沒那麼多嘰嘰喳喳的小情調，光怪陸離的現代詩意象大轟炸幾乎和他無關。如果江南是女人，他一定算不上一代蕩婦。準確說江南的詩沒老酒葫蘆詭異色歡，也沒病中的阿鐘那麼飄忽不定，更沒京不特那麼佛法無邊。但江南的文字是包羅萬象的，打開他的詩集幾乎沒他文字涉及不到的角落，大至天地良心小到無家可歸的祖國，江南的文字無處不在，一如他日夜渴望的自由。一種直覺告訴我江南雖人在美國，但他的詩情卻在中國，而且是幾十年前的中國，他詩章中常出現當年的土插隊細節和年少時光禿禿的上海馬路，還是記憶中的電線杆變成的枕木伸向遠方。他似乎還活在過去，一個長不大的老男人，儘管他來美二十載，他的詩中滿滿的裝著過去，一種抽乾了情感添加劑的文字過去式，被悄悄抹去的歲月痕跡。江南的詩的確很先鋒，一支入世之筆書寫的不那麼直白的民運另家。他不同於一些個老民運烈火熊熊的詩句，但他點到為止卻也效果正好，比如那年六月的槍聲。其實遠在美國的江南和我們沒時差，他一直在等雨，在等六月的雨......老酒葫蘆（吳非）2015-11-27深夜於美蘭湖
