POETIC SCRIPTURES is a paraphrase of the Gospel of John, and Jesus' Sermon on the Mount as recorded in Matthew's Gospel, chapters 5-7. It is written in poetry form to provide easy reading that is interesting, easily understood, and can be read in a couple of hours. These passages of Scripture provide very timely and necessary instructions on daily living to enable us to be pleasing to God. This poetry was written during two different times while the author was recuperating from some major surgeries, providing her the opportunity to meditate on God's Word and write down her thoughts as she was healing. Although Poetic Scriptures was completed and on the shelf for a few years, now it is time to share these thoughts with others. God has provided the opportunity to make this available to the general public. May God receive all the glory that is due Him! Kay Hinson grew up in Nashville, and now lives in Crossville, Tennessee. She has retired from serving as an activity director in nursing facilities, and now invests her time in writing and painting everyday things she sees in God's creation. The front cover and illustrations in this book are photos of some of her original artwork. More art in full color may be seen on her Facebook page, Kay Hinson, Christian Artist. She will continue writing and painting as long as God gives her the ability to do so. Publisher's website: http://sbprabooks.com/KayHinson

‘There’s a touch of both Dickinson and Larkin in Jennifer Chrystie’s mature exhumation of the tales and tropes of family. The collection arcs from, at one extreme, the parsimonies of the household, to the transce...

    Edward V Bonner
The very title of Edward V. Bonner's first volume of poetry, One Kiss (Ingram, 2015), suggests some ways in which the poems inside balance the universal with the particular. Most of the poems examine the themes of beauty and risk, pleasure and danger, in the context of one of three kinds of relationships: to romantic partners, to the spiritual world, and to the world of nature....

In his interpretation of Antigone, Seamus Heaney says, ‘Nobody can be sure they are always right.’ Maureen O’Shaughnessy’s The Truth about A further attends to this idea through various readings of the myth as portrayed by Sophocles, Brecht, Ted Hughes, Anne Carson and, most particularly, Euripides.
