This book presents all the major aspects associated with the procedure of plastic surgery. Plastic Surgery is a surgical specialty which is developing at a fast pace. It is not just limited to cosmetic applications but also includes aesthetic and reconstructive procedures which attempt to restore functionality and normal appearance of organs damaged due to neoplasm, ageing, trauma or iatrogenesis. More than three thousand years ago, Indian surgeons were able to reconstruct nasal deformities inflicted as punishment using reconstructive procedures. Advances in research and technology have led to significant developments in reconstructive surgery although some age-old procedures like Indian forehead flap for nasal reconstruction continue to be used due to their effective outcomes.
