Planted is the long-awaited second novel in the Kindra and Tommy series. The first book, In Bloom, starts off with Kindra who has spent her life emotionally cut off from those around her, but two unrelated events change everything for her: her unexpected friendship with Tiana a self-described dyke who forces her friendship on Kindra, and meeting Tommy Shannon a bitter foul-mouthed, ex-skier forced into a wheelchair due to an accident that ended his skiing career. Tommy and Kindra both face their personal demons in the first book, thrown together, by unusual circumstances, they emerge from their personal Winters, In Bloom. The second book in the series focuses on their life as a married couple moving into their new home, a Shit Shack as Rosemary, Tommy’s mother calls it, complete with an aging porch and endless vines climbing the place. They meet their lonely neighbor, an eight-year-old girl being raised by her elderly grandmother who finds a way into both their hearts. Then there’s Timothy the miniature pooping machine who is found outside the library huddled and alone, Tiana and Marta’s quest to have a baby, and Graesyn the hippie freak and newest addition at the Orangedale Library. Twists, turns, and surprises abound in this newest book in the humorous adventures of the Shannons and the cast of characters who inhabit their world. In the first book they came into bloom, but now, they are PLANTED.
