In diesem Buch werden die Auswirkungen von TrP-DN und IMES auf die Kinesiophobie, die Anzahl der MTrPs und die Schulter-ROM verglichen. Nach 6 Monaten gab es keinen statistisch signifikanten Unterschied zwischen den Auswirkungen von TrP-DN und IMES beim Vergleich der Ergebnisse zwischen den Gruppen in Bezug auf Kinesiophobie. Bei den MTrPs war die IMES mit IEP der TrP-DN in Bezug auf die Verringerung der Anzahl aktiver und latenter MTrPs in Woche 3 bzw. 6 vorzuziehen. In den Wochen 1, 2 und 3 wurden jedoch zugunsten der IMES-Gruppe klinisch bedeutsame und signifikante Unterschiede beim Bewegungsumfang (ROM) der Schulter in Abduktion und Außenrotation festgestellt. Diese mittleren Unterschiede zwischen den Gruppen entsprachen auch dem MCID-Wert von 7° für den ROM in Abduktion und 3° für den ROM in Außenrotation. Die Ergebnisse unserer Untersuchung für weitere Bewegungsbereiche der Schulter, einschließlich Beugung, Streckung und Innenrotation, zeigen jedoch über alle Zeiträume hinweg nur geringe Unterschiede zwischen den Gruppen.
