Im Rahmen des Studienganges Biochemie bildet das Fachgebiet Biophysikalische Chemie die Grundlage für das Verständnis des Zusammenwirkens molekularer Strukturen in physiologischen Prozessen. Dieses Lehrbuch behandelt in konsequenter Darstellung die für das Verständnis der Struktur-Funktionsbeziehungen von Biomolekülen wichtigen Themen. Dabei wird die Erläuterung von Meßverfahren auf ein unerläßliches Minimum und auf Literaturhinweise beschränkt, um die Diskussion der wissenschaftlichen Fragestellungen nicht mit methodischen Erörterungen zu belasten. Das Buch schließt eine Lücke zwischen den auf Teilgebiete der physikalischen Chemie konzentrierten Kurztexten und den umfangreichen biophysikalischen Monographiensammlungen. Es eignet sich damit besonders für Studierende der Naturwissenschaften in mittleren und höheren Semestern. Kenntnisse der physikalischen Biochemie sind auch für wissenschaftlich tätige Biologen, Mediziner, Land- und Forstwirte sowie Pharmazeuten wichtig.
