O objetivo do nosso trabalho é avaliar a presença, importância e tipo de perturbações cognitivas (DC) em doentes com epilepsia temporal (ET) e estudar a sua possível correlação com dados epidemiológicos, clínicos e radiológicos.Métodos: Realizámos um estudo transversal durante um período de 6 meses (maio-novembro de 2022), incluindo doentes seguidos por ETT. Os nossos doentes foram submetidos a avaliação neuropsicológica, EEG e RMN cerebral. Resultados: Incluímos 32 doentes com uma idade média de 35 anos. Observámos CT marcadas nas áreas de VTI, atenção e sobretudo memória episódica (ME). Relacionámos a gravidade destes TC com factores sócio-epidemiológicos, a gravidade da epilepsia e o uso de Clonazepan. A presença de uma lesão temporal do tipo esclerose hipocampal foi a causa mais comum de declínio da ME. A lateralidade da zona epileptogénica caracterizou a natureza da EM afetada. Conclusão: No final do nosso trabalho, sublinhamos a importância da identificação da TC para melhorar o tratamento subsequente e minimizar o seu impacto numa população frequentemente jovem.
