This book is the 4th installment in a series of poetry with purpose. The rhyming couplets and well thought-out prose of Paul Kosir’s poems, not only share stories personal to the author, but aid in teaching the reader more about nature. From hikes in the woods, to visiting national parks, Paul takes you on a journey with him, showcasing the various wildlife of a region. The author weaves a wonderful narrative, using a mix of humor, personal knowledge, and scientific terms (most of which are defined prior to each poem). Read along as Paul describes climbing trees as a kid, his unsuccessful attempt to pet a porcupine, and what the definition of crepuscular is.Each poem is meant to encourage the reader to go out and explore nature for themselves; take notes and make their own observations. As the other says, 'writing in this book would not mar its pages, but cause them to flower.'

The collection arcs from, at one extreme, the parsimonies of the household, to the transce...

The very title of Edward V. Bonner's first volume of poetry, One Kiss (Ingram, 2015), suggests some ways in which the poems inside balance the universal with the particular.
