A espiritualidade é uma parte importante da diversidade, conforme determinado pelo Código de Ética e pela Política Educacional e Padrões Educacionais da Associação Nacional de Serviço Social. No entanto, a educação em serviço social é deficiente nessa área. Os assistentes sociais relatam sentir-se despreparados e desconfortáveis ao abordar a espiritualidade com os clientes. O objetivo deste estudo foi comparar as perspetivas, a utilização e a educação dos assistentes sociais de hospícios, saúde mental e hospitais sobre o uso da espiritualidade na prática. Um total de 41 assistentes sociais foram inquiridos e as respostas foram analisadas com um Chi-Quadrado e ANOVA Unidirecional. Não houve diferença nas perspetivas de espiritualidade entre os inquiridos de hospícios, saúde mental e assistência social hospitalar. Houve algumas diferenças estatisticamente significativas nos componentes de utilização e formação, mas, no geral, elas foram baixas nos três grupos.
