Daher entwickelt Manuel Mergens in diesem Buch das auf den Rekursiven Nutzenfunktionen von Epstein-Zin basierende Performancemaß für Lebenszyklusfonds LZM. Dessen Kern ist die zur Risikoreduzierung im Zeitablauf ähnliche Präferenz für frühe Auflösung von Unsicherheit nach Kreps-Porteus. Eine Untersuchung der Performance von europäischen und amerikanischen Lebenszyklusfonds rundet das Werk ab.
