Os escândalos de abusos sexuais, de abuso de autoridade e de abuso de consciência no seio da Igreja suscitaram fortes emoções em todo o mundo e levantaram questões sobre as causas deste comportamento grave por parte dos padres. Enquanto muitos estudos encontram a origem de uma situação tão dolorosa na crise da vocação sacerdotal, outros sugerem antes a falta de 'maturidade psicológica e afectiva' como a fonte de tais abusos sexuais na Igreja. O nosso trabalho visa definir o conceito de maturidade psicológica e afectiva, salientando a sua importância na formação dos candidatos ao sacerdócio em tempos de crise vocacional. Com base na eficácia da terapia narrativa, propomos um programa que visa ajudar os seminaristas, bem como as suas famílias e formadores, a reconhecerem as raízes do problema, a desconstruírem as narrativas dominantes repletas de padrões de pensamento erróneos que alimentam esse abuso. O objetivo deste livro é que os futuros sacerdotes se apropriem da sua própria história de vida e da sua vocação, para que possam ser livres e alegres nas suas relações com os outros e verdadeiramente responsáveis no serviço de Deus.
