Degree in 1951.He married Emma Jean Archer in 1951. They have two children: James and Jeanette, and one grandson, Kelsey.After graduation from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, Fort Worth, Texas, Herbert pastored churches in Texas until he and his wife were appointed as missionaries to Taiwan by the Foreign Mission Board of the Southern Baptist Convention in 1959. He has served as field evangelist, Director of Mass Communications, Director of TEE, and church planter.After retirement in 1993, the couple served among Chinese communities in Europe, American Samoa, and Asia. They now reside at Baptist Home, Ozark, Missouri.
