Your Trauma may have come from physical abuse, sexual molestation, bullying, toxic relationships, death, abandonment, betrayal, adverse childhood experiences, neglect, medical abuse of power, cultural, systemic oppression, dysfunctional family dynamics, domestic violence, physical violence, mental abuse, alcohol and or drug addiction, or military experience.One of the most widespread forms of Trauma is sexual abuse. According to the National Association of Adult Survivors of Child Abuse, there are more than 42 million survivors of sexual abuse in America. Furthermore, according to the National Children’s Alliance and the Advocacy Center, one in three girls and one in five boys are sexually abused before the age of eighteen. One in Five children are solicited sexually while on the internet before the age of eighteen. Those statistics are staggering; therefore, it is safe to say that either you or someone that you know has been molested and or grew up with alcoholics. It is almost a certainty you or someone that you know (married or single) have experienced physical violence, either being the perpetrator or the victim.Becoming Trauma-Informed is The Pathway To Recovery and is essential to understanding trauma survivors. This is not just another book to be read and placed on the shelf. It is a blueprint, a journey to deep healing and restoration.
