Este libro es la primera versión en castellano de Past, Present and Future, cuyo Prefacio se firmó en 'Manchester, 1966'. La instantánea registrada en este ensayo tuvo enormes consecuencias, como cargas explosivas, en el desarrollo de la lógica modal, temporal y deóntica, así como en la aparición de la lógica híbrida a finales del siglo XX. Sus temas son una constelación de lugares: libertad, indeterminismo, universos vacíos, existencia, relatividad, lenguaje y cuantificación. Si la relación entre significante y significado es arbitraria, todo signo es un no-signo, así como cada fotograma es su negativo. Si a todo libro corresponde su contra-libro como reflejo especular, el que corresponde ahora, 56 años después de su publicación, queda pendiente... El tiempo no es un objeto pero su negativo es lo real
