Ce livre examine de manière critique le mouvement 'Not Too Young To Run' au Nigeria, en interrogeant son impact pratique à travers le prisme des réalisations de Cephas Tavershima Dyako en matière d’autonomisation des jeunes et de plaidoyer politique. Si le mouvement a réussi à réduire les barrières constitutionnelles liées à l’âge pour l’exercice d’une fonction politique et a marqué un tournant symbolique vers l’inclusion des jeunes, cette étude soutient qu’une véritable transformation reste limitée par des obstacles institutionnels, financiers et socioculturels bien ancrés. L’ascension de Dyako, depuis l’État rural de Benue jusqu’au leadership politique de la jeunesse, illustre à la fois les promesses et les défis de l’héritage du mouvement : sa mobilisation à la base, son plaidoyer en faveur d’un développement inclusif et l’accent mis sur l’éducation et l’autonomisation révèlent le rôle vital des jeunes leaders dans l’évolution démocratique du Nigéria. Cependant, son parcours révèle également la persistance d’obstacles systémiques tels que le cloisonnement des partis, l’éducation civique inadéquate et la domination des élites, qui continuent d’entraver une participation élargie des jeunes.
