Each chapter is a disturbingly familiar leap into the nightly journeys of Lou, Alice, and five other people. The splash of their adventures both transcends their mundane daily lives and provides adventure and symbolic experience that cannot be found anywhere else. Party Line can be read from page one as a narrative (best done in one sitting, which may happen), but also can be opened randomly for a very different reading experience.
