As parábolas de Jesus eram entendidas pelos ouvintes de forma literal. Em particular, Jesus as explicava aos Apóstolos. Entretanto, são poucos os registros que os Evangelhos fazem dessas explicações.Émillie Collignon, contemporânea de Allan Kardec, recebeu a missão de psicografar as explicações de cada uma dessas parábolas, explicações estas compiladas neste livro e que são comparadas com as que deu o Codificador da Doutrina Espírita.A missão de Collignon não foi, no entanto, apenas a de receber a explicação das parábolas, mas de revelar o que está dito de forma pouco clara nos Evangelhos, que também são textos mediúnicos. Algumas das revelações recebidas pela médium constam deste livro, particularmente a que trata da natureza do corpo de Jesus.O livro finaliza com a reprodução de um estudo do Sudário de Turim, apresentando as conclusões dos cientistas sobre o pano que envolveu o corpo de Jesus.
