The book reflects how different psychological characteristics influence adjustment pattern of painters and non-painters. In this realm the present work intends to understand how painting helps in adjustment in diverse spheres of life. As art therapy is growing as an important mode in treating different mental disorders, the role of painting in the process of sublimation needs to be explored. The present findings provide an indication that painting might be used as a sublimation tool for the persons who have disturbed adjustment in different spheres of life. An individual’s artwork is reflective of his or her inner dynamics, hence it may have medically diagnostic implications as well. The present writing contributes in designing diagnostic and therapeutic models for mentally disturbed persons. The book can also attract the therapists intended to use art as a resource.
