Pain is an unpleasant sensory and emotional experience associated with actual or potential tissue damage and various diseases. The International Association for the Study of Pain defines pain in this way, emphasizing its subjective and multidimensional nature. Pain is a subjective, unpleasant perception and feeling that can occur due to tissue damage, its imminent damage, or due to psychological causes. It occurs in almost all diseases and injuries. It is a protective mechanism whose function is to make the organism aware of danger and react to remove the painful stimulus. If the painful stimulus cannot be stopped, chronic pain occurs, which does not have a protective function but rather burdens the patient. Pain can be categorized into several types, the most common of which are acute and chronic.
