Il pilling è un fenomeno spiacevole associato ai tessuti in filato, soprattutto quando contengono fibre sintetiche. Le fibre sintetiche presenti nel tessuto si trascinano più facilmente sulla superficie del tessuto grazie alla loro superficie liscia e alla loro sezione trasversale circolare, nonché alla loro maggiore resistenza alla trazione e all’abrasione; le pasticche che si formano richiedono molto tempo per essere abrase dall’usura. L’applicazione del finissaggio sulla superficie del tessuto cementifica le fibre all’interno del filato in modo che il loro trascinamento diventi più difficile, senza influire negativamente sulla maniglia. I finissaggi in resina e il biopolishing sono in grado di ridurre la tendenza al pilling. L’obiettivo principale del presente studio è stato quello di verificare l’effetto di diversi agenti anti-pilling per ridurre il pilling sul tessuto di poliestere/cotone. È emerso che i vari agenti anti-pilling hanno un impatto diverso sulla riduzione del pilling. Allo stesso modo, anche l’alta concentrazione di agenti anti-pilling ha un impatto significativo sul miglioramento delle proprietà anti-pilling del tessuto P/C, oltre ad avere un impatto negativo sulle proprietà di trazione del tessuto.
