A própria noção de que os serviços de saúde devem ser rastreados e, por conseguinte, estar sob os ditames gerais do princípio da economia vai contra as crenças e tradições culturais do povo da Nigéria. Uma pessoa doente na sociedade precisa de ajuda e não deve ser vista meramente como mais uma estatística para justificar o investimento nos serviços de saúde e, já agora, a liberalização desse sector. A capacidade de pagar pelos serviços de saúde não deve ser o critério de acesso aos mesmos.
